PIZZA MAKER /COOK OR CHEF/WAITERS/WAITRESS

About the role

Flour and Salt Restaurant is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Pizza Makers, Cooks, Chefs, Waiters and Waitresses to join our dynamic hospitality team. This is a part-time position based in Fairfield, VIC 3078. What you'll be doing

As a Pizza Maker/Cook/Chef:

• Prepare and cook pizzas and other menu items to the highest standard, ensuring consistency and quality

• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards

• Follow recipes and presentation guidelines while demonstrating creativity and culinary expertise

• Manage cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes are prepared efficiently and to specification

• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service

• Assist with food preparation, ingredient portioning and stock rotation

• Support the head chef or kitchen manager with any additional kitchen duties as required

As a Waiter/Waitress:

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and provide attentive, professional service throughout their dining experience

• Take orders accurately and communicate them promptly to the kitchen

• Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner, ensuring presentation standards are maintained

• Attend to guest needs, address queries and resolve any service issues professionally

• Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, ingredients and beverage pairings

• Clear tables promptly and maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment

• Process payments and manage transactions accurately

• Support the team in setting up and breaking down the dining area

What we're looking for

For Pizza Maker/Cook/Chef roles:

• Proven experience working in a professional kitchen or similar culinary environment

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including pizza making and other Italian-inspired dishes

• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and kitchen regulations

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality standards

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (desirable but not essential with demonstrated experience)

• A passion for cooking and commitment to continuous improvement

• Team player with excellent communication skills

For Waiter/Waitress roles:

• Previous hospitality or customer service experience (desirable)

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment

• Professional demeanour with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences

• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

• Responsible attitude towards health, safety and hygiene

• RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it (may be required)
