Apprentice Signwriter / Vehicle Wrapper

John Hills Signs is looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Signwriter / Vehicle Wrapper to join our team in Nowra.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the signage industry and learn a diverse trade that combines creativity, practical skills, technology and hands-on work.

You'll be working alongside experienced signwriters and learning how to produce and install everything from vehicle graphics and wraps through to shopfront signage, building signs, digital prints, vinyl graphics and custom signage.

No previous signage experience is required. We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and pride in their work.

What you'll learn

As part of your apprenticeship, you'll gain hands-on experience in:

• Vehicle wrapping and vehicle graphics

• Vinyl cutting, preparation and application

• Digital printing and laminating

• Producing signs using a range of materials

• Sign fabrication and assembly

• CNC and laser-cut signage

• Installing signage on-site

• Working with hand and power tools

• Preparing vehicles and surfaces for vinyl application

• Basic graphic design and artwork preparation

• Measuring, planning and setting out signage

• Finishing and quality control

You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects rather than doing the same thing every day.

• Is reliable, punctual and willing to work

• Has a positive attitude and genuinely wants to learn a trade

• Enjoys practical, hands-on work

• Has good attention to detail

• Takes pride in producing quality work

• Is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

• Can follow instructions and is willing to ask questions

• Has an interest in vehicles, graphics, signage, fabrication or design

• Is comfortable using tools and learning new equipment

• Is happy to work both in our workshop and on-site

You don't need to already know how to wrap a vehicle or make a sign — that's what we're here to teach you.

John Hills Signs is an established signage business based in Nowra, NSW, producing signage for businesses, organisations and vehicles throughout the Shoalhaven and surrounding areas.

Our work covers a broad range of signage including vehicle wraps and graphics, shopfront and building signage, 3D lettering, digital printing, vinyl graphics, ACM signs, banners, corflutes and custom signage.
