Research Scientist/Senior Scientist

To extend our expertise and impact, Silent Spring Institute considers applications from research scientists who wish to develop and lead an independent research program within our mission. Our scientists publish in high-impact scientific journals, compete for federal grants, participate in scientific conferences, translate their science into policy that protects public health, and work with community and advocacy organizations. We are a highly collaborative, collegial, interdisciplinary, fast-paced, mission-focused research organization dedicated to improving women’s health by identifying preventable environmental risk factors. At this time, we are most able to consider applicants who have a track record of successful research grants, publications, and community work and can bring their own grant funding. Our scientists are supported by outstanding research associates and access to funds for pilot studies and proposal development.

About Silent Spring Institute: Founded in 1994, Silent Spring Institute is the leading scientific research organization dedicated to uncovering the links between chemicals in our everyday environment and women’s health. Our multi-disciplinary team has expertise in exposure science and engineering, epidemiology, toxicology, chemistry, computer science, data science and statistics, social science, and communications. We lead studies funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Environmental Protection Agency, and other federal and state agencies and collaborate with investigators at Harvard, UC Berkeley, Columbia, Brown, and elsewhere.
