About the role
Cumberland City is one of the most culturally diverse and vibrant areas in NSW, known for its international food, welcoming community events and festivals, high-quality community programs and extensive networks of green spaces. Located at the entry point to Western Sydney, Cumberland City Council is experiencing significant growth, with its population estimated to reach over 340,000 by 2046.
With this unique offering and continued growth, Cumberland City Council is now seeking an experienced professional to manage and lead delivery services for their open spaces division.
About The Opportunity
The successful candidate will have strong delivery experience leading community-based services including sports facilities, recreational facilities, playgrounds, sports grounds, park maintenance and open space planning.
The Manager City Open Spaces will lead and manage a multi-disciplined customer focused division of over 100 dedicated staff working at established and new facilities across the Cumberland City Council area.
As an experienced community oriented and customer focused senior leader, you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in a related technical field or management, combined with extensive relevant senior level experienceExperience in high level managing of delivery services in an operation-based organisationProven ability to deliver a range of services across a diverse spread of disciplinesSupervisor ability, listening, co-ordinating, motivating, prioritising, assessing, problem solving, customer service and teamworkAbility to oversee the financial management of the Open Space team including budget preparation and maintenanceAdvanced written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of the Local Government environment is desirable, but not essential.
Reporting into the Executive Manager City Operations, a competitive remuneration package is on offer for the successful candidate.
