Full-Time Cook / Café Chef – Daytime Hours

Twenty 9 Piper is looking for an experienced Cook / Café Chef to join our team in a full-time role.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced cook or chef — including a strong 2IC or senior cook — looking for a stable, full-time daytime role in a busy café kitchen. You’ll work alongside our existing chef, sharing responsibility for service, preparation and the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.

We serve breakfast, brunch and lunch, with a focus on well-prepared, consistent café food. This is a daytime role with no night shifts or split shifts.

The Role

You’ll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day kitchen operation, including:

• Preparing and cooking breakfast, brunch and lunch during service
• Running service confidently and efficiently
• Maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and portioning
• Managing daily prep and keeping the kitchen organised for service
• Stock rotation and assisting with ordering and stock control
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene
• Working closely with our front-of-house team to deliver smooth service
• Contributing ideas for specials and new menu items

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has solid experience as a cook or chef, ideally in a café or similar fast-paced kitchen
• Can work independently when required and collaboratively as part of a small kitchen team
• Is organised, reliable and takes pride in their work
• Understands the importance of consistency, preparation and a clean kitchen
• Can make good decisions and stay organised during a busy service
• Works well as part of a close-knit team
• Has flexible availability across weekdays and weekends

You don't need to have been a Head Chef. If you're an experienced cook, chef, senior cook or 2IC looking for a role with more responsibility and great daytime hours, we'd like to hear from you.
