Therapy Assistant

Week-1 Thurs, Friday, Mon, Tues

About The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient individual who is truly passionate about enriching the lives of elderly residents and encouraging our resident’s independence, and wellbeing.

As a valued member of our team, you will:

• Deliver engaging mobility and exercise programs for residents under the guidance of our Physiotherapists.
• Support meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities under the direction of our Occupational Therapist.
• Play an active role in planning and organising innovative therapy programs.
• Lead and facilitate a diverse range of therapy-based activities that inspire participation and enjoyment.
• Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation in line with relevant standards and guidelines.
• Accompany resident groups on outings, helping create enjoyable and memorable experiences.

 Requirements of the role

• Hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent.
• A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher or experience (Desirable but not essential).
• Have experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant).
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Have empathy with the elderly.
• Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.

About the facility

Nestled in the quiet residential suburb of Yokine, the recently rebuilt, (former Stirling Community Hospital) is now the modern and well-appointed Stirling Aged Care Facility. Aegis Stirling offers residential care for 133 reside and utilize state-of-the-art equipment - providing Residents with quality care and easier working conditions for our staff.
