About the role
As a Senior Interior Designer at Cachet, you’ll lead the creative and technical direction of commercial fitout projects across Melbourne. You’ll own concept development, design documentation, and project delivery ensuring every space reflects Cachet’s design ethos and is delivered with precision.
We're a fast growing and exciting design and construction firm working with a large portfolio of great clients across Australia and New Zealand! You'll have exposure to design work for workplaces, mixed-use commercial assets, industrial, health and medical projects, hospitality and more!
About the RoleIn this role, you will:End-to-End Commercial Fitout Leadership: Lead workplace and commercial fitout projects from concept through documentation and project delivery, ensuring exceptional design quality and outstanding client outcomes.Design Excellence & Technical Delivery: Develop innovative design solutions, including space planning, material and finishes palettes, Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment (FF&E) selections, client presentations, and coordinated Revit documentation.Client & Project Collaboration: Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, project managers, procurement teams, and contractors to deliver commercial fitout projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management: Present design concepts with confidence, guide clients through key decisions, and manage stakeholder feedback throughout the project lifecycle.People Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor and support Interior Designers and Graduates, fostering technical excellence, creativity, and a collaborative Mentor and support Interior Designers and Graduates, fostering technical excellence, creativity, and a collaborative design culture.Design Quality & Continuous Improvement: Champion design quality through regular reviews, quality assurance, and adherence to studio standards, while contributing to the evolution of Cachet's design language through research, innovation, and industry best practice.
About YouYou’re an experienced commercial interior designer (minimum 7 years) with strong interiors / or design & construction commercial project exposure and the confidence to lead projects end-to-end. You bring a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and commercial awareness.
You have:7+ years of experience in workplace, commercial, mixed-use, or design & construction interior design projects.5+ years of professional Revit experience with strong documentation and delivery capability.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and visualisation tools such as Enscape, D5 Render, or similar platforms.Strong design capability across spatial planning, FF&E selection, and client-facing presentations.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in client engagement and presenting design solutions.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organisation, prioritisation, and delivery focus.A collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior designers.Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand building codes, regulations, and design standards.Curiosity and passion for materials, emerging trends, and evolving design technologies.
