Rail and Transit Systems – Apprenticeship Program 2027
Our apprenticeship program is a four-year fulltime fixed term program, open to school leavers and mature-aged applicants who have a keen interest in becoming a Tradesperson through the completion of an apprenticeship. This provides an opportunity to progress to a Fleet Maintenance Technician.
During your apprenticeship, you will complete studies at TAFE and gain practical on-the-job training with the guidance of experienced, skilled managers, leaders and tradespersons.

Apprenticeships include, Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Fitter, Boilermaker, and Electrical.

Your development pathway will consist of:

• Four-year full time on the job paid program gaining knowledge and experience through working collaboratively with respective discipline managers and leaders
• One-on-one mentoring, networking and buddy support
• Complete TAFE modules within set timeframes 
• Learn new skills with workshop experience

We have excellent career creating opportunities that will be based in:

• QLD- Maryborough and Torbanlea
• NSW- Auburn and Cardiff

We are seeking the following skills:

• Electrical aptitude
• Manual dexterity
• Strong competency in mathematics
• Strong safety-focus

About you:

• Australia Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident and or Full Australian work rights.
• Completion of any relevant pre-apprenticeship, desirable 
• Able and committed to start in January 2027
• Completion of Year 12 School Certificate or equivalent, desirable
• Current Driver’s license, desirable
