ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY OF ROLE
Quality Control (QC) Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of products, services, or processes within UA Manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures.
Inspection and Testing: Conduct inspections and testing to ensure products or services meet quality and regulatory requirements.
Defect Identification and Resolution: Identify defects, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, including test results and defect reports.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as ISO standards and PIC/S code.
Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control procedures and best practices.
KEY RESULT AREAS AND ASSOCIATED TASKS/ACTIVITIES
Sampling and testing of incoming raw materials.
Conduct routine testing for bulk products.
Conduct testing for components and finished products (as required).
Reviewing and cross-validating other analysts' work (as required).
Perform retention procedures as per SOP.
Preparation of test solutions and reagents as required.
Ability to perform instrument calibration.
Organize samples for NATA lab testing and file testing reports
Maintenance of QC equipment and facilities.
Update and manage related records and registers
Keep the Laboratory clean and tidy as per good laboratory practice.
Upholding cleanliness, safety, and adherence to Occupational Health & Safety Policy in the work area.
Proactively organizing and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion.
Maintaining accuracy and efficiency in task execution.
Regularly updating the manager on task progress and promptly notifying of any issues.
Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and specified test methods.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related scientific discipline is required.
Hands-on experience with HPLC analysis is highly desirable, including sample preparation, method execution and basic troubleshooting.
Demonstrated ability to perform both wet chemistry and instrumental analytical techniques within a laboratory environment.
Prior experience working in a GMP-regulated environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food manufacturing or related industries.
Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and laboratory compliance standards such as GLP.
Familiarity with pharmacopoeial standards including USP, BP and EP is preferred.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different departments within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload and adapt to the dynamic nature of a manufacturing environment.
Fluency in Mandarin is desirable, as the role may involve regular communication with QC teams and clients in China.
General working knowledge of analytical laboratory operations, documentation practices and regulatory requirements.
