About the role

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you an experienced HR professional who understands that effective business partnering means getting to know the business, not simply providing advice from the sidelines?
Tamworth Regional Council is seeking a capable and commercially minded Business Partner – People & Culture to partner with leaders across our Regional Services Directorate, supporting operational areas such as transport operations, civil construction and other essential frontline services.
This is a true generalist HR partnering role requiring someone who can balance strategic workforce priorities with the practical realities of a diverse, blue-collar workforce. You will take the time to understand each operational environment, build trusted relationships with leaders and employees and provide practical advice that supports both our people and the delivery of essential services to the community.
Working as part of Council’s broader People & Culture team, you will provide strategic and operational support across the employee lifecycle, including:
You will work closely with specialist teams across People & Culture, drawing on broader expertise where required to deliver coordinated, consistent and fit-for-purpose solutions.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
Experience within local government, civil construction, transport, utilities or another operationally diverse environment will be highly regarded.

Salary range: Grade 17 - $102,066.50 - $110,446.38 per annum plus superannuation, for a 35 hour work week.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
