Your new role as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse
Being a passionate Registered Nurse/Enrolled Nurse (RN/EN) ready to join our Day Surgery Unit (DSU) team, you will report directly to the DSU Managers and will care for patients across a wide variety of specialities. Specialties including Urology, Orthopaedics, Colorectal and Gynaecology who are admitted to our busy 7 theatre Perioperative suite.

As a successful applicant, you will be supported by the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and an experienced leadership team who emphasise and promote ongoing clinical education within the Perioperative department.

You will be available for a range of shifts throughout a Monday – Friday week (excluding night shift).

About You

Essential Criteria

• Current Registration with APHRA ·

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in PACU / Critical Care or Day Surgery Nursing ·

• Demonstrated clinical competence with proven ability to operate confidently in a PACU / Critical Care / Day Surgery area ·

• Demonstrated collaborative and well-developed verbal and written communication skills ·

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient centred care ·

• Well-developed time management skills with a high degree of initiative ·

• Demonstrated a knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement ·

• Experience with computerised reporting systems ·

• Commitment to Professional Development and to a structured learning program for all staff

Desirable Criteria

• Completion of a Post Graduate qualification ·

• Membership of relevant professional organisation
