About us
The Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre (SMRC) is a not-for-profit community-based agency providing services to migrants and refugees living in the southern region of Melbourne, including the local government areas of City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey, Shire of Cardinia, and surrounding suburbs. Since 1993, SMRC has supported the settlement of newly arrived refugees and provided community-based services for migrants and refugees through funded in-language social, economic, health and wellbeing programs.
SMRC provides a wide range of aged care services, ensuring that older community members have access to care and support that is culturally sensitive, and in-language where required.
SMRC operates a multicultural labour hire service, which provides a culturally sensitive and in-language alternative to in-home care.
The vision of SMRC is to ensure that migrants and refugees are enabled to achieve their goals and aspirations. We exist to support and empower migrants and refugees through our delivery of programs and services that are innovative, inclusive, and impactful.
The Positions
Fixed Term to June 2027
Part Time - 22.8 hours per week - working with the general community
Part Time - 22.8 hours per week - working with the Hakha Chin community
Salary Packaging available.
Do you have the skills and passion to drive high-quality case management to SMRC clients?
SMRC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Case Manager to provide high level case management, information and referral services to SMRC Settlement clients. You will also be required to develop and deliver goal directed care plans.
This role works within program guidelines to empower individuals to feel safe and secure, to promote their wellbeing and to enable their full participation in society through connection to culture and community.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that clients receive the necessary support to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone with:
Minimum of Diploma Qualification in Social Work and/or Case Management.
Proven experience in case management, preferably in a community, or multicultural setting.
An understanding of MARAM Framework and Information Sharing Schemes
Relevant demonstrated experience in Settlement services.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
A commitment to delivering culturally safe and inclusive services.
