Accounts Officer

The HMC Group has extensive aviation, tourism, and accommodation operations in some of the most iconic regions of Australia and is seeking an Accounts Officer to join our team!

 Based in our Rivervale office, this full-time position is responsible managing the daily financial operations of our tourism and accommodation businesses including; accounts payable, account receivable, credit card reconciliations and other financial administrative duties as required.

 The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our Finance Department, gaining experience year-round across several entities.

About the role

 Based in Perth, as an Accounts Officer with the HMC Group you will have the opportunity to take ownership of our accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, as well as bank reconciliations and other finance duties across our tourism and accommodation operations in The Kimberley.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

 Accounts Payable

• Match purchase orders to supplier invoices, distributing for approval, entering purchases in Xero and processing payment upon approval

• Review and verification of supplier statements

• Address all Accounts Payable queries, including responding to supplier phone calls and emails

• Appropriate filing of Accounts Payable records

Accounts Receivable

• Monitor and follow up on customer accounts including receivables outside trading terms and account discrepancies

• Issue monthly account statements

• Assist with Accounts Receivable queries

Bank Reconciliations

• Daily reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions.

Other finance duties

• Generate month end reports for the General Manager as required.

• Continuous improvement of systems and processes.

• Assist with year-end processes including the collation and reconciliation of financial data for external and internal audit purposes.

About you:

• A minimum of 5 years Bookkeeping or Accounts Payable experience.

• Strong computer literacy skills including Xero, Word, Excel and Outlook.

• Ability to complete multiple tasks concurrently, within prescribed timeframes and with a high level of accuracy.

• The ability to work independently with limited supervision.

• Well-developed problem-solving skills with a high level of initiative.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
