Plant Operator
Reporting to the Yard Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring materials are processed safely and efficiently while delivering outstanding customer service.
This is a varied role that combines customer interaction, equipment operation, and practical yard work, making it perfect for someone who enjoys staying active and getting stuck in.
What You’ll Be Doing
Grading, sorting, and purchasing a range of scrap metalsLoading and unloading trucks, skip bins, and trailersAssisting customers with enquiries and providing a positive service experienceOperating forklifts and other site machinery and equipmentWeighing, bagging, palletising, and preparing materials for transport and stocktakeMaintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environmentFollowing workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures at all timesSupporting the wider team to keep the site running smoothly

A strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitudeExcellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and sort different materialsA willingness to learn and develop new skillsPrevious experience in recycling, warehousing, labouring, manufacturing, construction, customer service, or a similar hands-on environmentStrong communication skills and a customer-focused mindsetCommitment to working safely and following proceduresBasic numeracy and computer skillsReliability, initiative, and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment
Bonus Points If You Have
Forklift Licence (highly regarded)Previous experience operating machinery or working in recycling, waste, logistics, manufacturing, or resource recovery
