IT Engineer (System) - Bank of China, Sydney

Bank of China Limited Sydney Branch is the oldest operating Chinese bank in Australia and is currently seeking an IT Engineer (System) who has strong database administration & application systems management skills to join Bank of China Sydney branch. 

This is a Two Year Maximum Term contract role. To be successful in this role you need to have the below qualifications and skills:
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor, maintain and manage the application systems of the bank. Write and regularly review IT documents (e.g.  IT operations menus, procedures.)
• Support existing ETLs and reporting solutions. Work with the development team to design, implement and maintain new ETLs and Automatic batch processing programs. Communicate with other parties (business users, service providers, internal IT teams, IT teams from Head Office, etc.) for Application systems/ETL troubleshooting, root cause analysis, etc.
• Provide data query services to business users. Analyze business user's data query requests, translate business needs into technical specifications, design data query scripts to extract data from relational databases and generate reports based on the business user's requests (Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI is highly desirable)
• Work with the system management team to support and troubleshoot the SQL and Oracle Databases (Prior experience with Oracle database and data warehousing tools like SSIS is advantageous)
• Assist project managers to conduct related IT projects.
• Ad hoc duties assigned by department headers/ team leaders.At least 2+ years database administration or application system management experience (Working experience in banking industry is preferred) 

• Solid skills to maintain and troubleshoot Application Systems and ETL
• Database knowledge in Microsoft SQL, Oracle, mySQL, SSIS, etc.
• Strong ability to code and troubleshoot SQL coding S scripts, power shell scripts, ftp scripts, etc.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Web Server, SFTP Server, Power BI, etc.
• Good communication skills in both English and Chinese
• Good  project management skill and technical documents writing skills.
• Good Knowledge of Information/Cyber security
• At least 2 years DevOps or application support/maintenance experience
• Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Data Analysis or related.
• Candidates with working experience in system administration or information security management will be preferred.
