About the role:
Are you motivated by applying ecological science to achieve real conservation outcomes?
We’re looking for an experienced Ecologist to join our team and help protect and restore biodiversity across the Murraylands and Riverland region. This is an opportunity to use your ecological expertise to influence on-ground conservation, support threatened species recovery and work alongside landholders, community groups and partners to deliver lasting environmental outcomes.
Who you are & what you’ll do:
As our Ecologist, you’ll provide expert ecological advice to support conservation across private and public land. You’ll use your knowledge of applied ecology to translate science into practical management decisions, helping to protect threatened flora and other priority species while improving the health of native vegetation, floodplains and wetlands.
You’ll lead threatened species recovery programs, provide technical advice to inform environmental planning and project delivery, and work collaboratively with partners to achieve meaningful biodiversity outcomes. You’ll also play an important role in building ecological knowledge and capability across the region through mentoring, knowledge sharing and technical support.

The Landscape Ecology team is a dedicated group of ecologists and conservation professionals working to protect and improve biodiversity outcomes across the Murraylands and Riverland region.
The team supports the landscape board’s conservation priorities by providing ecological advice, delivering threatened species and biodiversity programs, and working alongside landholders, communities and partners to achieve practical, on-ground outcomes.
You’ll join a collaborative and supportive team that values science, knowledge sharing and working together to make a meaningful difference for the region’s native species and habitats.

Additional details:
Remuneration: Classification PO2 $94,769 min - $109,787 max p.a
Term contract: Up to 4 years contract length, with the possibility of extension.
Future opportunities: This recruitment process may be used to fill vacancies and establish a merit list for future opportunities for up to twelve months.
