Role Description The Senior Fire Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Wollongong Area, responsible for inspecting, testing, installing, and maintaining fire protection systems and equipment in line with applicable codes and standards. Day-to-day work includes conducting scheduled service visits, performing fault finding and repairs, completing compliance documentation, and providing technical guidance to clients and colleagues. The role involves coordinating with project managers and other trades, ensuring accurate reporting, and contributing to continuous improvement in safety and service procedures. The Senior Fire Technician may also mentor junior technicians, support training activities, and assist with quoting or technical input for new projects.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in fire systems inspection, testing, installation, and maintenance, including strong fault-finding capability.Sound knowledge of relevant fire safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements applicable to commercial and residential properties.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for fire protection systems.Strong documentation and reporting skills, including accurate completion of service records, compliance certificates, and job notes.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and colleagues on-site.Proven ability to work safely, follow established procedures, and contribute to a culture of safety and risk management.Relevant trade qualification or certification in fire protection, electrical, or mechanical fields; additional fire industry accreditation is highly regarded.Previous experience in a senior or lead technician role, including mentoring or training junior team members, is advantageous.Valid driver’s license and capacity to travel
