About the role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trade Assistant to join our workshop team. Working alongside qualified tradespeople, you will assist with the maintenance, repair, preparation, and mobilisation of a wide range of mining and civil construction plant and equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and experience operating forklifts in a busy workshop environment.
Safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move equipment, components and materials throughout the workshop and yard.
Assisting fitters, boilermakers and other trades personnel with repairs and maintenance activities.
Loading and unloading trucks and deliveries.
Cleaning, preparing and organising workshop areas and equipment.
Maintaining workshop tooling and equipment.
Performing general labouring and housekeeping duties.
Following all company safety procedures and contributing to a positive safety culture.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
Current High Risk Work Licence (Forklift - LF) - essential.
Previous experience in a workshop, mechanical or industrial environment (preferred).
Experience working with mining, quarry, earthmoving or civil construction equipment highly regarded.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to undertake manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
Current driver's licence.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
