Wood Machinist/ Joiner - Immediate Start
Heritage Window Specialists is looking for an experienced Wood Machinist/Joiner in Western Red Cedar timber windows to join our team!
This position will be permanent/full time to the right candidate. We are after someone who is reliable and trustworthy, takes pride in their work and works well in a team environment as well as a willingness to learn.

Key duties & responsibilities will include:
An absolute commitment to Workplace Health and Safety
Grind and set up planer heads
Operate a planer and feed works to process timber products
Assess and maintain cutter performance
Fault diagnosis and rectification
General maintenance and care of machinery
Set up and operation of 4 side (8 head) timber moulder machine to meet production requirements
Set up cutters in tool heads
Operate machinery to grind straight and profiled cutters
Operate timber machinery
Maintain machinery (moulders and grinders etc)
Quality control
You will bring:
Have experience operating high speed planners
A can-do attitude
Attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to understand instructions
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills/ attributes:
Experience in Operation of woodworking machinery
Experience working with solid timber
Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment
Previous window and door experience is a must
Ability to work off detailed shop drawings and cutting lists
Ability to interpret cutting lists.
Have experience in working with timber machines - panel saw, plainer, thicknesser, moulders and hand tools.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Great attention to detail and accuracy.
Quality control of own work.
A strong work ethic.
Forklift license (preferable).
Able to prioritise workloads in line with Staff/others’ deliverables, completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Must have driver’s license
