About the role
Hanlon is a proudly Australian, family-owned business delivering structural steel and project solutions across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and outdoor media sectors throughout Australasia.
We’re looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join our NSW team, combining technical capability with hands-on project coordination to support the delivery of outdoor media, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
About the RoleWorking closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors, workshop operations, and engineering teams, you’ll help coordinate projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You’ll also provide technical support throughout project delivery, including reviewing structural steel models, drawings and technical documentation to identify issues, coordinate requirements and support fabrication and installation outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate site and workshop activities
Support delivery of outdoor media, maintenance, and infrastructure projects
Review structural steel models, drawings, and technical documentation to support project coordination and constructability
Assist with subcontractor and supplier coordination
Monitor project schedules, costs, and progress
Maintain QA, safety, and compliance documentation
Support tendering and estimating activities
Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
3+ years’ experience in a Project Engineer or similar role
Background in construction, structural steel, engineering, or a related industry
Strong organisational and communication skills
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to review and interpret structural steel models, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Experience with project scheduling, and cost tracking
Proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused
Diverse projects across outdoor media, infrastructure, and construction
Exposure to both the technical and commercial aspects of structural steel project delivery
