Quality Compliance Officer

At The District Nurses we are navigating one of the most significant periods of reform in aged care. This role offers the opportunity to help shape quality, safety and continuous improvement to support better outcomes for older Tasmanians. Working closely with our Quality & Compliance Manager and leaders across the organisation, you will help strengthen our clinical governance systems, build a culture of learning and improvement, and ensure the voice of clients informs the way we deliver care. 

Key Responsibilities:

As our Quality Compliance Officer, you will:

• Support and promote a culture of quality, compliance, safety and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
• Assist teams to understand and meet obligations under relevant legislation, standards, governance frameworks and organisational policies.
• Support organisational readiness for accreditation, audits, reviews and external assessments.
• Monitor and maintain compliance registers and support reporting of compliance-related matters.
• Assist with internal audits and quality improvement initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.
• Analyse quality, and compliance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
• Support the review, investigation and escalation of complaints, feedback and incidents including application of open disclosure principles.
• Provide training, guidance and mentoring to staff on quality, compliance, incident, feedback management and governance processes.
• Track corrective actions arising from audits, incidents, complaints and accreditation activities to ensure timely completion.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and governance documentation to support executive and board-level reporting.
• Promote client engagement and ensure client feedback is incorporated into service improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

• Has experience working with quality systems, compliance programs and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards, aged care legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Can identify risks, investigate feedback and incidents and contribute to improved service quality and client outcomes.
• Has excellent analytical and data management skills, with the ability to interpret information and identify trends.
• Demonstrates strong organisational skills and can effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Communicates confidently and professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Has experience supporting audits, accreditation activities and quality reporting processes.
• Is committed to ethical practice, person-centred care and ongoing professional development.

Essential Requirements

• Previous clinical experience in the health or aged care sector.
• Experience working with quality programs and quality frameworks.
• National Police Check.
• Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Employment).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Nursing, Health Management, Quality Assurance or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications in health management, quality improvement or clinical governance.
• Experience with incident management systems and clinical audit processes.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
