Systems Support Officer

Wesley College is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Systems Support Officer to play a key role in the delivery of IT support services across the College.

Reporting to the Director of Information and Learning Technologies (ILT), this position combines hands-on technical support, endpoint administration and service desk coordination. The role also provides day-to-day leadership and support to a team of ICT Support Officers, ensuring high-quality service delivery to staff, students and parents.

About You

You will be a technically capable and service-oriented professional with experience supporting and administering modern Microsoft environments. You will have strong troubleshooting skills, enjoy working with people, and be comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with technical project work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the College IT Help Desk.
• Provide Level 1 and 2 technical support across a diverse technology environment.
• Manage Microsoft Intune endpoint administration, security and compliance.
• Design and implement device management, application deployment and configuration solutions.
• Oversee device lifecycle management, including annual staff and student device renewals.
• Manage endpoint patching, upgrades, reporting and monitoring.
• Support cyber security initiatives and endpoint protection measures.
• Coordinate support requests and provide guidance to ICT Support Officers.
• Maintain system documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver reliable technology services.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential

• Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and administering Microsoft Intune solutions within a complex technology environment.
• Strong knowledge of endpoint management, device security, compliance management using Intune and WDAC (Application Control for Business).
• Understanding of the importance of cyber security frameworks such as Essential 8.
• Experience with Azure AD and other Microsoft 365 services.
• Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, prioritise and manage competing tasks and support requests in a timely manner.
• Proven ability to work independently and exercise initiative while supporting users across a campus environment for extended periods of time.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to new concepts in a rapidly changing technological environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems and end-user device management.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft and Adobe applications.

 Desirable

• Experience with scripting and automation technologies, particularly PowerShell.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications.
