About The Role
Are you an experienced plant operator looking to make a meaningful contribution to your community? We are seeking a safety-focused and reliable Operator to join our team and help maintain Council's infrastructure and public spaces across urban and rural environments.
This hands-on role, you'll work collaboratively with your crew to deliver high-quality outcomes for the community.
Some Common Task Include
Safely operate tractors and powered attachments, including slashers and similar equipment. Complete maintenance and construction activities across a variety of worksites. Participate in a range of operational activities, including assisting other crew members and supporting the delivery of team objectives. Conduct worksite safety inspections before, during and after works to identify and manage hazards and risks. Maintain work areas in a clean, safe and well-presented condition.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety and compliance with legislative and operational requirements. Experience operating light plant, machinery and equipment associated with maintenance and construction activities. Knowledge of, or the ability to obtain knowledge of, road signage and traffic control requirements in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Part 3). Sound communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to changing operational needs. Effective time management skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team. Experience using mobile technology and computerised equipment such as tablets, GPS devices, data loggers and mobile applications.
Mandatory Requirements
Current unrestricted Queensland C Class Manual Driver Licence. Construction Safety White Card (or ability to obtain).
Desirable Requirements
Current unrestricted Queensland MR Driver Licence, or ability to obtain.
