Your new role awaits
As a Coates Operations Coordinator, you'll be the key on-site representative supporting our customer at Phosphate Hill Mine. This hands-on role combines equipment coordination, customer service and mechanical maintenance responsibilities to ensure equipment is available, safe and ready for use when our customers need it.
Working autonomously in a satellite branch environment, you'll coordinate equipment requirements, build strong customer relationships and perform maintenance and servicing across our hire fleet. This role is ideal for a trade-qualified mechanic or fitter who enjoys a mix of technical and operational responsibilities.
This is a FIFO role from Townsville, based at Phosphate Hill Mine. You will work 12-hour shifts (6am to 6pm), 7 days per week while on site, with all flights, accommodation and meals fully provided.
We are open to discussing either a 1 week on, 1 week off roster or a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate safety leadership and actively contribute to Coates' Safety First, Zero Harm culture. Coordinate the supply and mobilisation of equipment to meet customer project requirements. Conduct pre-hire inspections and ensure equipment is maintained to Coates standards. Respond to customer enquiries, provide equipment recommendations and deliver exceptional service. Coordinate maintenance activities and service schedules for site equipment. Perform fault finding, minor repairs and servicing on small plant and equipment. Liaise closely with site personnel to manage day-to-day equipment requirements. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with operational and safety procedures.
About You
You'll be a proactive and customer-focused trade professional who enjoys building relationships and taking ownership of outcomes in a remote site environment.
To Be Successful, You'll Have
Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel Fitter, Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar). Current Forklift Licence. Experience working with petrol and diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical systems. Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills. Effective organisational and time management abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills. A strong commitment to safety and working within a Zero Harm environment.
Desirable
EWP Licence. Test and Tag certification. Previous experience working in a mining, construction or equipment hire environment.
