Duty Manager – Short-Term Rentals / Hotel Accommodation

Location: Footscray, Victoria

Sungrass Property Group is a specialist residential building management company operating in Australia. We provide short-term and long-term accommodation services for apartment owners within the residential buildings we manage.

We are seeking a reliable, experienced and hands-on Duty Manager to join our expanding team in Footscray.

Previous hotel, serviced apartment or short-term accommodation experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily front-office and guest-service operations.
• Support, supervise and provide guidance to reception staff.
• Ensure a consistently high standard of customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Respond to guest enquiries, complaints and operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping operations and communicate effectively with the housekeeping team.
• Assist with staff scheduling and roster management for reception and housekeeping employees.
• Review housekeeping rosters and identify staffing requirements.
• Conduct room inspections and spot checks to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.
• Supervise housekeeping team leaders and follow up on any quality or maintenance issues.
• Work closely with management to improve operational procedures and the overall guest experience.
• Assist with other operational duties as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a duty manager, front-office supervisor or similar hospitality role.
• Strong experience in guest services and daily accommodation operations.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to supervise and motivate reception and housekeeping teams.
• Strong organisational and roster-management skills.
• A hands-on approach and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to service quality.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays when required.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
