Position: OpenShift Platform Engineer/LeadLocation: SydneyDuration: 6 months
Must Have Skills: OpenShift ,RKEDetailed Job Description:Seeking a senior platform engineer to lead the migration of the internal platform from its current RKE-based deployment to OpenShift. This is an ownership role — the candidate will drive the migration from design through to full productization and operational handover, working closely with SMEs.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the end-to-end migration of the platform from RKE to OpenShift from design through build, testing, and full productization.Take/participate in platform re-architecture decisions in collaboration with SMEs Stand up and configure the OpenShift environment, ensuring parity and improvement over the existing RKE-based platform.Implement full operationalization: monitoring, alerting, and alarm integration for the new platform.Manage onboarding of L1/L2 support teams onto the new platform, including runbooks and support processes.Take complete technical ownership of the migration programme, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.Support APIGee platform integration points as required
Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on expertise in OpenShift (design, deployment, and administration).Strong understanding / experience of RKE (the platform being migrated away from).Experience with platform/infrastructure migration projects, ideally in a telecom or network operator environment.Familiarity with monitoring/alerting/observability tooling and operationalization practices.Ability to work independently and take end-to-end ownership of a transformation programme.Telecom/network domain exposureis highly desirable.Experience - 12 years+ ExperienceMinimum Years of Experience: 6-8+ yrs Certifications Needed: N/ATop 3 responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and executeLead and own the end-to-end migration of the platform from RKE to OpenShift, driving architecture, design, implementation, testing, and full productization while ensuring a seamless transition to the target state.Design, deploy, and operationalize the OpenShift platform by implementing monitoring, alerting, observability, and support processes, ensuring a reliable, scalable, and production-ready environment.Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional stakeholders to drive platform modernization, manage integration requirements, onboard L1/L2 support teams, and provide technical leadership throughout the transformation program.
