Residential Construction Administrator / Pre-Site Coordinator

About the role

Modern Designer Homes is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Administrator / Pre-Site Coordinator to join our growing team. This varied role is suited to a highly organised and proactive professional with at least three years of experience in the Australian residential construction industry. You will coordinate projects from the initial contract stage through pre-construction, building approval, construction and occupancy. You will also be the primary point of contact for clients, consultants and relevant authorities throughout the building journey.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the pre-construction and construction stages

• Provide regular project updates and respond to client enquiries professionally and promptly

• Prepare residential construction contracts and supporting documentation

• Coordinate contract signing and ensure all required documents are completed accurately

• Prepare and lodge building permit applications and liaise with relevant contractors, consultants and building surveyors

• Coordinate the documentation required for occupancy permits and handover

• Track the progress of developer approvals, building permits and occupancy permits

• Follow up on outstanding information, approvals and consultant documentation

• Coordinate client variations and other pre-construction requirements

• Maintain accurate electronic project files, approval registers and client records

About you

• A minimum of three years' experience in residential construction administration, pre-site coordination or a similar role in Australia

• Experience preparing and coordinating building permit documentation

• Experience coordinating occupancy permit documentation and compliance certificates

• Experience preparing residential construction contracts and variations

• A strong understanding of the Victorian residential construction process, from contract through to handover

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and document-management systems

• The ability to read and understand residential plans, specifications and construction documents

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
