About our role
We have vacancies available on both day shift and night shift for experienced Yoghurt Makers (Dairy Plant Operator), reporting to the Production Supervisor. The Dairy Plant Operator position plays a critical role in the setup, preparation and manufacture of our dairy products, ensuring tasks are carried out to achieve the production schedule.
To meet the demands of this important role, you will need to be a strong problem solver with a high level of interpersonal skills to develop relationships with team members. Your excellent communication and teamwork skills will be required when working in conjunction with the Production team across the shifts as well as Maintenance, Quality/Safety, Planning and R&D.
You should have a proven track record of being proactive and dedicated when it comes to Safety and Quality as well as demonstrated Process Operating experience.
Key responsibilities will be:
Carry out all production tasks from raw milk load in and mixing, to setting up fillers and all associated equipment
Conduct cleaning of equipment with exceptional commitment to quality and attention to detail
Monitor product quality throughout the production process and take positive action if deviation from the standards is observed
Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
Ensure production CCPs are monitored and correctly recorded
Ensure wastage and efficiency standards are achieved.
Hours of Work
Day Shift = 6am - 6pm on a 7-day fortnightly roster with weekend work paid at OT rate included.
Night Shift = 6pm – 6am on a 7-day fortnightly roster with weekend work paid at OT rate included.
Shift Pattern = Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun & Week 2: Wed, Thu.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will possess tertiary qualifications in Manufacturing/Engineering or a related field, coupled with previous experience in a Process Operator position ideally within either the dairy or food manufacturing industries, as well as:
A minimum of 3-5 years of Process Operator experience is required
Solid understanding of GMP and HACCP Principles
A working knowledge of CITECT Scada is desirable but not essential
Highly motivated and self-driven with outstanding attention to detail
Proven ability to build rapport across multiple internal stakeholders
The ability to work with minimal supervision, with exceptional time management skills
Excellent communication skills
