About the role
The AVA is the peak professional organisation representing veterinary professionals and veterinary students across Australia. For over 100 years, we’ve been the united voice of the veterinary profession—safeguarding animal health and welfare and building a vibrant future for veterinary professionals.
Our members are experts in animal health and welfare and one of Australia’s most trusted and respected professions. Our organisation promotes and leads scientific progress and outcomes in the field of Veterinary Science.
AVA’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are membership groups within the AVA that bring together veterinarians with shared interests in specific animal species (such as Small Animal, Cattle, Equine, Pigs and Poultry) or areas of veterinary practice and science (including Behaviour, Dentistry, Welfare and Ethic).
We are seeking a part-time Executive Officer, Special Interest Groups to join our team for 3 days per week on a job share temporary basis for 6 months. This role is responsible for supporting AVA members and their SIG Committees. Drive and contribute to membership growth, retention and engagement, advocacy, and continuing professional development for their SIG through development and implementation of initiatives to meet strategic objectives of the AVA.
Our national office is located in St Leonards, Sydney; however, remote work arrangements may be considered for the right candidate. This role may require occasional travel and, from time to time, work outside standard business hours.
Visit our website www.ava.com.au for more information on the AVA.
This is an opportunity to take your passion for education, events and administration, in a values-based organisation that supports one of Australia’s most trusted professions. You’ll become part of the AVA family, working in a friendly and positive employee culture and team environment.
