About the role
Stainless Aesthetics is seeking a skilled Sheetmetal Fabricator / Welder to join our team in Morningside, QLD. This is a casual position to start that offers flexibility whilst contributing to high-quality fabrication projects. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into precision creative components and finished products, utilising your expertise in both fabrication techniques and welding processes. This position is integral to our operations, ensuring we maintain our reputation for excellence in public art sector.
Key responsibilities
Fabricate and shape sheetmetal components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery
Perform welding operations on various materials to precise specifications and quality standards
Read and interpret shop drawings and work instructions accurately
Measure, mark, and cut sheetmetal materials to required dimensions
Operate guillotines, press brake, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
Conduct quality checks on finished components to ensure they meet specified tolerances and standards
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety requirements
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and delivery schedules
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Sheetmetal Fabricator and/or Welder in a trades environment
Competency in TIG, MIG or laser welding techniques
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency with sheetmetal fabrication tools and machinery
Knowledge of safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical fitness and capability to perform manual work and lift heavy materials
Relevant qualifications or certifications in welding (such as National Certificate in Welding) are highly desirable but time in trade acknowledged
Problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new techniques and processes
