About the role
We are a newly established equine business based in Mittagong, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Our operation focuses on high-quality horse care, training support, and professional stable management, with a strong emphasis on horse welfare and long-term development.
As we build our team, we are looking for a reliable and hands-on Stable Groom who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-run stable environment.
Your RoleYou will play a key role in the daily care and management of horses, supporting overall stable operations and ensuring high standards are consistently maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
Daily feeding, watering, and general care of horses
Mucking out stables, paddock maintenance, and yard upkeep
Grooming, washing, and basic horse handling
Tacking up and untacking horses
Assisting with exercise routines (lunging/hand-walking if experienced)
Monitoring horse health and reporting any issues promptly
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of equipment and facilities
Assisting the team for Shows/Competitions
We are looking for someone who is dependable, physically fit, and genuinely enjoys working with horses.
Ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working with horses (essential)
Horse handling and grooming skills
Willingness to work weekends/public holidays as required
Experience with performance or showjumping horses
Ability to ride or assist with training
Knowledge of horse health, feeding, and stable management
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliability and punctuality
