About the role
Start your speech pathology career with a clear plan — not guesswork
Your first year shapes the clinician you become. So we've built a structured new graduate pathway that shows you exactly how you'll grow — clinically, professionally and in confidence.
This isn't a “figure it out as you go” role. It's a supported transition into paediatric practice, with the right people around you and a genuine investment in you finding your feet. At Access to Therapy, everything we do ladders up to three words — access, empathy and hope — for children and families across the greater Ipswich, Springfield and Logan region.
Our structured new graduate plan
From day one, you'll follow a clear pathway built to grow your confidence steadily:
• A gradual caseload build — we ease you in rather than throwing you in the deep end
• A strong clinic base at Springfield, supporting close collaboration with early childhood centres
• Joint sessions and shadowing with experienced clinicians
• Clear clinical frameworks to guide your sessions, so you're never guessing
• Regular one-to-one supervision, plus protected time to plan and write reports
• A clear salary progression that grows as you do — starting at $77,000 + super, rising to $82,000 + super at 6 months and $85,000 + super as you consolidate your caseload. Plus, a professional development allowance.
Your team — this is the difference
You won't be working in isolation. You'll be surrounded and supported every day by an experienced, multidisciplinary team:
• In-clinic support from Speech Pathologists working in the clinic
• Supervision from Alexis Taylor (Senior, Speech Pathologist)
• Clinical leadership from Dr Victoria Sandham (Clinical Lead & Speech Pathologist, PhD)
• Multi-discicplinary support from the Early Childhood Intervention and Occupational Therapy team
• Onsite leadership and operational support from Callum Trevorrow (Physiotherapist & Director)
That means you're learning alongside experienced clinicians across disciplines — every single day.
What this role looks like
• A paediatric caseload, focused on communication development and functional, everyday outcomes
• Working across our Springfield clinic, schools and kindergartens, and early childhood settings
• Partnering with families and educators to support each child where they are
• Evidence-based, family-centred practice with the support to keep learning
Why this role stands out
• A genuine new graduate structure — a real plan, not a title
• A clear, structured salary progression tied to your development — not a vague promise
• A multidisciplinary team around you (speech pathology, occupational therapy, early childhood intervention)
• A strong clinic base that makes collaboration easy
• Exposure to both early intervention and school-based work
• A clear pathway to grow into senior roles over time
What we're looking for
• Eligible for Speech Pathology graduation at the end of 2026
• Eligibility for practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia (CPSP) for 2027
• A genuine interest in paediatrics and early intervention
• A warm, family-first approach and a willingness to learn as part of a team
• A current driver's licence
• A Working with Children Check (Queensland Blue Card) and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or eligibility to obtain them
What you'll get
• A structured salary progression: $77,000 + super to start, $82,000 + super at 6 months, and $85,000 + super as you consolidate — pay that grows on a clear plan as you do (paid hourly, 38 hours per week).
• A structured new graduate support program with strong supervision and mentoring
• A $1,500 professional development (CPD) allowance
• Mileage covered for community visits
• A supportive, values-driven team that genuinely cares — about our families and each other
• Admin support, so you can focus on your clinical work
• The chance to make a real difference in your own local community
Location
Springfield
