We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Payroll & Finance Officer to join our team at Edinburgh.

This is a hands-on role with primary responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of our weekly payroll, together with the day-to-day management of accounts payable.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Finance Manager and wider administration team, providing support across finance functions as required. We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, has excellent attention to detail and, importantly, has hands-on experience using Employment Hero Payroll.

This role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work while also being happy to jump in and assist the wider team when needed.

• Process end-to-end weekly payroll, including wages, overtime, allowances, deductions and leave.

• Review and verify timesheets and payroll information prior to processing.

• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and information.

• Respond to payroll queries and investigate discrepancies as required.

• Ensure payroll is processed in accordance with relevant awards, legislation and company requirements.

• Process Accounts Payable, including entering supplier invoices and bills into the system for payment and review and reconcile supplier invoices and statements.

• Maintain accurate financial records within Xero and associated systems.

• Assist with reconciliations and other finance-related tasks as required.

• Provide support to the Finance Manager and wider administration team during busy periods, leave coverage and peak workloads.

• Undertake general finance and administrative duties as required.

To be successful you will have:

• Previous experience in payroll, finance, bookkeeping or accounts administration.

• Previous Employment Hero Payroll experience is essential.

• Experience using Xero.

• Strong understanding of payroll legislation and payroll processing.

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

• High level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Previous experience within the civil construction, waste management or service industries will be highly regarded.
