About the roles

The Roving Cook takes full ownership of comprehensive kitchen operations, menu implementation, kitchen safety, and cleanliness. 

The Roving Housekeeper is responsible for delivering a high level of housekeeping services across multiple Top End hostels. These positions demand high adaptability, requiring regional travel—frequently on short notice—for deployments that potentially extend to multiple weeks.

AHL is looking for people with backgrounds in hospitality, cleaning, and customer service roles to join our team.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must be Australian Citizens or have already lodged an application for Australian Citizenship. 

Prior to engagement, the successful applicant will be required to: 

• provide an Australian Citizenship document (e.g. birth certificate or passport);
• undergo a satisfactory National Criminal History Check;
• meet the fitness for duty requirements; and
• hold and maintain, working with children check in the NT.

Our purpose is to provide culturally safe and affordable accommodation for First Nations people who need to be away from home to access services and economic opportunities. Across our network of hostels, dedicated AHL staff provide accommodation and meals for residents in a culturally safe and supportive environment. We have a strong network of relationships with other organisations, including First Nations organisations. This network both refers residents to AHL and works alongside AHL to support residents to meet their needs.
