Food Manufacturing | Northern Suburbs | Full Time
We are an expanding Melbourne-based food manufacturing business in the northern suburbs. As production continues to expand, we're investing in our maintenance team to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and build better systems.
We're looking for a practical, reliable Maintenance Technician to work alongside our Maintenance Manager in keeping our plant operating safely and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to develop their maintenance skills, and takes pride in doing things properly.
About the RoleWorking closely with the Maintenance Manager, you'll assist with preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, plant improvements, and general maintenance across the site.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same.
You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of production equipment while helping improve the overall reliability of the factory.
What You'll Be Walking IntoA growing food manufacturing business
A mix of older and newer production equipment
Preventative maintenance systems that are being strengthened
A supportive Maintenance Supervisor focused on improving standards
Opportunities to learn new skills and broaden your experience
Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance
Support equipment repairs and breakdown response
Carry out routine inspections and servicing
Assist with installation of new equipment and site improvements
Work with contractors when required
Maintain workshop, tools and spare parts in an organised condition
Complete maintenance records accurately
Support food safety, GMP and workplace safety requirements
Identify maintenance issues before they become breakdowns
Assist with general factory maintenance and improvement projects
Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
Proven maintenance experience in Australian manufacturing, food production or a similar environment is preferred
Trade qualification or apprenticeship (completed or in progress) highly regarded
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Willing to learn and take direction
Reliable, organised and able to work independently when required
Good communication skills
Minimum 7 years experience in local food manufacturing
Proven experience in GFSI certified food manufacturing
Current driver's licence
