Employment Development Consultant

Your Impact:

As a Fixed-Term Full-Time the Employment Development Consultant, you will play a key role:

• Responsible for delivering Good Sammy’s NDIS funded employment services, such as School Leaver Employment Supports and Finding and Keeping a Job.
• Support and mentor NDIS participants to overcome barriers, build capacity to move onto a pathway to further education or employment through the development of individualised plans.
• Engages participants with a person-centred approach, and through collaboration with other stakeholders.
• Deliver services in a safe and ethical manner that is compliant with the NDIS Commissions Quality Standards Framework to ensure quality services are delivered and enhance the reputation of Good Sammys.  
• Report to the Employment Development Manager.
• Work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders including the Operations Team, People and Diversity Team, the Learning & Capability Team.

Please note that this role would be offered on a fixed term basis for 02 years. The roster would be from Mondays to Fridays, from 9.00am - 5.00pm.

What you'll do:

Participant Support and Outcomes

• Manage a caseload of up to 30 participants as they navigate their employment journey in the Employment Development Phase.
• Support individual participants to meet their employment goals in line with their funded NDIS Employment Supports by establishing a relationship of trust and respect with each participant.
• Assessing participant’s individual needs, skills, and aspirations.
• Helping them set goals and develop a plan of employment supports to achieve them.
• Increasing their work readiness through targeted capacity building, skill building activities and work experience.
• Monitoring the progress of each participant and adjusting the individual’s plan as needed.
• Offering constructive feedback to foster personal and professional growth.
• Encouraging positivity, self-confidence, and resilience in challenging situations.
• Motivating and engaging participants in suitable job search activities.
• Providing on-the-job support to participants who undertake work experience activities or employment work trials.
• Initiating reverse marketing efforts to connect participants with businesses, resulting in sustainable employment outcomes.
• Building relationships with employers to create work experience and employment opportunities for participants
• Uphold professional boundaries and adhere to all privacy, confidentiality and safeguarding standards.

Employer Engagement and Stakeholder Relationships

• Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with employers, participants, families, carers and other key stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal teams, NDIS providers and allied health professionals to coordinate holistic support for participants.
• Promote Good Sammy’s services to potential employers and community organisations, engaging in meetings and functions as required.

Administrative and Reporting Requirements

• Ensure all participant records, case notes and documentation are accurate, timely and meet NDIS and organisational audit requirements.
• Prepare reports on participant progress and outcomes as required.
• Manage competing priorities effectively, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising service quality.

Teamwork and Organisational Contribution

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to share knowledge, resolve challenges and deliver quality services.
• Provide support as required for grant-funded projects and related activities to ensure compliance, coordination, successful implementation and evaluation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, offering ideas to enhance processes, systems and participant experiences.
• Actively participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, training and professional development opportunities.

Compliance and Quality Standards

• Always comply with all Good Sammy’s internal policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards, as well as all relevant legislative and contractual requirements.
• Consistently achieve, and aim to exceed, program deliverables, including individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), quality standards, and contractual obligations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all NDIS compliance requirements.

What you'll bring:

• Certificate III or IV, Diploma or Degree in relevant field (e.g. Individual Support (Disability), Community Services, Employment Services, Career Development), or at least two (2) years’ experience in the disability employment services sector.
• Proven experience delivering employment-related services and supporting participants to achieve sustainable employment outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance targets in a service delivery environment.
• Experience engaging with employers, participants, and stakeholders to negotiate and secure employment opportunities.
• Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and maintaining accurate, high-quality records.
• Current Working with Children Check or proof of application being lodged (receipt).
