Role: Medical & Emergency Services Operator (MESO)

Type: Fulltime Permanent

We're seeking an experienced Medical & Emergency Services Operator (MESO) to join our Health & Safety team at Weld Range.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you'll be responsible for leading emergency response and preparedness across site while delivering onsite medical services to our workforce. From coordinating medical evacuations and providing emergency care to maintaining emergency response equipment, training the Emergency Response Team and supporting injury management, you'll play a key role in ensuring our operation remains prepared to respond when it matters most.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Response

• Lead and coordinate the site's Emergency Response Team (ERT), ensuring a high level of emergency preparedness across the operation.
• Maintain emergency response equipment, vehicles and rescue systems to ensure operational readiness.
• Develop and deliver emergency response training, drills and exercises while maintaining emergency response plans and procedures.
• Coordinate emergency response activities during incidents, participate in Incident Management Team (IMT) activities and foster strong relationships with external emergency services and mutual aid partners.
• Drive continuous improvement through reviews of emergency response performance and preparedness.

Medical Services

• Provide emergency medical assessment and treatment, coordinating medical evacuations and patient transfers when required.
• Manage the onsite Medical Centre, Ambulance, medical equipment and pharmaceutical supplies to ensure operational readiness.
• Support workforce health through health surveillance, fitness for work programs and wellbeing initiatives while maintaining accurate and confidential medical records.

Injury Management

• Provide early intervention and onsite medical support following workplace injuries.
• Assist with return-to-work planning in collaboration with the Injury Management Coordinator and external medical providers, including advice on suitable duties where appropriate.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Support incident investigations involving medical treatment or emergency response and provide specialist advice on emergency preparedness.
• Maintain emergency response documentation, records and compliance requirements while contributing to continuous improvement across the Health & Safety function.

What You’ll Need

• Current unrestricted WA Manual C Class Driver’s Licence.
• National Police Clearance.
• Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue (or equivalent).
• Certificate IV in Healthcare, Paramedicine, Pre-Hospital Care or equivalent clinical qualification.
• Certificate IV Training & Assessment.
• Current Working at Heights and Confined Space competencies.
• Drug and Alcohol Testing qualification.
• Occupational Health qualification (desirable).
• Proven experience leading mine emergency response teams.
• Ability to successfully complete site medical and emergency response fitness requirements.
