• Base salary starting from $137,055.34 per annum + super

The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives' Association (NSWNMA) / ANMF NSW Branch is the registered union representing nurses and midwives across New South Wales. We advocate for and protect the industrial, professional and workplace interests of nurses and midwives working in the public, private, aged care and disability sectors.

The Public Health Organising Team is a multi-disciplinary team of organisers, industrial officers and campaign support staff working alongside members to build leadership, strengthen workplace structures and deliver campaigns that improve working lives.

About you:

You are a passionate organiser who believes in the power of collective action and member-led campaigning. You are skilled at building meaningful relationships both online and offline and can engage, motivate and develop leaders within diverse communities.

You are confident navigating digital platforms, analysing online communities and implementing innovative engagement strategies that support broader organising and campaign goals. You thrive in a dynamic environment, can manage competing priorities and enjoy working collaboratively while also taking initiative.

Most importantly, you are committed to strengthening worker voice, growing member power and supporting campaigns that create positive outcomes for nurses and midwives across NSW.

In this role, you will:

• Create and implement digital organising strategies that increase online engagement, activism and membership growth.
• Identify, develop and support member leaders to build and administer their own online communities and networks.
• Build meaningful relationships with members and potential members through digital and community-based organising activities.
• Map and analyse online communities connected to key workplaces, employers and target worker groups.
• Develop systems and processes to effectively follow up online leads and campaign engagement opportunities.
• Integrate digital organising tools and tactics with broader workplace and field organising campaigns.
• Test and implement innovative digital approaches to member retention, engagement and leadership development.
• Develop pathways that convert online engagement into active membership and participation.
• Work collaboratively with organisers, industrial staff, communications specialists and member leaders to achieve campaign objectives.

To be considered for this role you require:

Essential

• Demonstrated commitment to the union movement.
• Recognised qualifications in nursing or midwifery.
• Demonstrated experience in a field organising or digital organising role.
• Full and current NSW driver's licence.
• A minimum of two years' financial membership with the NSWNMA / ANMF NSW Branch.
• Flexibility to address member matters as they arise

Desirable

• Experience working for a union or within social justice organising.
• Experience in community organising or active participation in community groups and networks.
• Ability to speak, read and write in a second language.
