About the role
Choice N Control Charitable Ltd is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Payroll professional to take full ownership of our HR and payroll function.
As an NDIS charitable organisation, our people are at the heart of what we do. This is an important role that will ensure our employees are well supported, our HR practices are effective and compliant, and our payroll is accurate and delivered on time.
We are looking for someone who can confidently manage the HR function autonomously, provide practical advice to management, and take responsibility for the full employee lifecycle, alongside end-to-end payroll processing.
About the Role
Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for managing and developing our HR function, including:
Managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management, employee relations and offboarding.
Providing HR advice and guidance to management and employees.
Managing employee relations, performance matters, grievances and workplace issues.
Ensuring employment practices comply with relevant legislation, regulations and industrial instruments.
Managing employment contracts, variations, probation, leave, performance reviews and employee documentation.
Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records.
Identifying and implementing improvements to HR systems and processes.
End-to-End Payroll
You will also have full responsibility for payroll, including:
Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time.
Reviewing timesheets, rosters and leave
Managing new starters, terminations and payroll changes.
Ensuring employee entitlements are correctly calculated and paid.
Managing pay day superannuation and portable long service leave
Reconciling payroll and maintaining accurate payroll records.
Responding to and resolving employee payroll queries.
Ensuring payroll is compliant with applicable legislation and awards.
Working closely with management to identify and resolve payroll or workforce issues.
About You
You will have:
Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience.
Strong experience across the full HR function and employee lifecycle.
The confidence to independently manage HR matters and provide advice to management.
Strong payroll compliance and award interpretation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
A high level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
Desirable Experience
Experience or knowledge in the following areas will be highly regarded:
SCHADS Award and its application to employment conditions and payroll.
MYOB payroll.
ShiftCare rostering and workforce management software.
Employment Hero HR system
