QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER

About the role

The Quality Assurance Officer supports food safety, product quality, workplace safety and regulatory compliance across the business. Working with management and the production, warehouse, logistics and procurement teams, the role combines quality checks with extensive documentation, audit preparation, contract administration, WHS support, fleet compliance and SOP development. The position ensures records remain accurate and audit-ready, compliance deadlines are met, quality and safety issues are addressed promptly, and operational procedures remain current and effective.

Key responsibilities

• Complete, review and file quality, food safety, WHS, procurement and operational forms, registers and checklists.
• Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy records, databases, document registers and version control.
• Coordinate documentation for internal, external, customer and regulatory audits, including evidence, certificates and compliance records.
• Maintain audit schedules, licences, certificates and renewal dates, and monitor compliance deadlines.
• Record non-conformances and audit findings, coordinate corrective actions and follow up stakeholders through to closure.
• Conduct routine quality, hygiene and food-safety inspections across receival, storage, processing and dispatch.
• Complete temperature, cleaning, traceability and product-quality records and verify packaging, labels, batch details and expiry dates.
• Support procurement of packaging, operational supplies and services, including quotations, purchase orders and invoices.
• Maintain WHS registers, incident and inspection records, risk documentation, training records and employee licences.
• Maintain vehicle and fleet records covering registrations, servicing, inspections, faults, repairs, licences and expenditure.

About you

• Experience in quality assurance, compliance, administration, procurement, logistics or WHS within an operational environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail, document-control capability and commitment to accurate record keeping.
• Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to manage competing priorities and compliance deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including confidence preparing procedures and liaising with suppliers, contractors, employees and managers.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to follow issues and corrective actions through to resolution.
• Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills, with the ability to learn internal systems quickly.
• Experience within food manufacturing, meat processing, wholesale, warehousing, logistics or another regulated environment will be highly regarded.
