About the role
Our client, a global corporate bank, is seeking a motivated Finance Analyst to join their Finance & Administration department. This is a great opportunity for an early-career finance professional with a corporate banking background to gain broad exposure across month-end close, APRA and Head Office regulatory reporting, accounts payable, and cross-functional finance projects within a global banking environment.
About the Role
Reporting into the Finance team, you will support the month-end close process, assist with reconciliations and reporting working files, contribute to APRA regulatory submissions, maintain financial data, and contribute to process improvement and ad hoc projects across the department. This role suits someone who already understands the regulatory and reporting demands specific to corporate banking and is comfortable working with APRA reporting frameworks.

Prepare month-end reconciliations and assist with daily reconciliations and checks specific to corporate banking products and facilities
Support end-of-day closing processes
Prepare working files to support APRA regulatory reporting (including returns such as ARF/APS series submissions) and Head Office reporting
Assist with APRA prudential reporting requirements, ensuring data integrity and adherence to reporting deadlines
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement across corporate banking portfolios
Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets, including those supporting regulatory returns
Assist with processing invoices and reconciling vendor accounts
Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes
Collaborate with Risk, Treasury and other departments to gather financial and regulatory data relevant to corporate banking operations
Participate in process efficiency reviews and ad hoc projects, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for regulatory and finance systems
Support budgeting processes through data gathering and analysis
Assist in preparing information for internal and external audits, as well as APRA reviews and prudential inquiries
About You
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CA/CPA/CFA a plus)
Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance role within a corporate or institutional banking environment
Prior exposure to APRA reporting requirements and prudential standards is highly desirable
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, along with an understanding of corporate banking products (lending, trade finance, treasury facilities)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Skills & Attributes
Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to interpret data, resolve discrepancies and provide actionable insights, particularly in relation to regulatory reporting
Capable of handling complex data and solving problems independently, with an appreciation for the compliance-driven nature of corporate banking finance functions
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial and regulatory records
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when working to APRA reporting standards and deadlines
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise across Finance, Risk and Regulatory teams
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines across BAU close and regulatory reporting cycles
This is a well-paying 12-month contract position, paying up to $130k including super, depending on prior experience.
