About the role
Position Summary:This role is a key member of the operations and maintenance team (O&M) in Australia, working closely with colleagues locally and internationally to ensure that problems and issues are solved in a timely and effective way. Based in Melbourne, the role may travel to site from time to time and be the key local resource for investigating any problems with the Field Technicians (electricians). This role provides value in its ability to create timely solutions for the Field Technicians to use and ensure as minimal down time as possible.

Responsibilities:Troubleshooting system control and electrical hardware issues.Generate maintenance reports relating system performance determining root cause and performance trends.Creating equipment specific maintenance procedures.Training contractors and sub-contractors on equipment maintenance and operating procedures.Assisting the Field Technicians in maintenance activities.Maintaining AEMO and NSP communicationsResolving technical issues as it relates to the system software.Maintain computer networks including configuration and software management.Strong focus on preventing equipment down time.Maintain documentation including drawings, OEM documentation, procedures, safety documentation, etc. as it relates to PV generation systems.Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct.Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies.Conduct other duties as required.
Requirements:Experience in renewable energy, solar or BESS assets, working with power systems, power electronics, switchgear and power generation hardware.Familiarity with control relays, SCADA systems, PLC, network hardware and security software.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.Must have degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s level would be preferrableGrowth mindset, positive team attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent trouble shooting and prioritising skills.Previous exposure to operation and maintenance environment is a plus.Good written and verbal communication.Confident in presenting to stakeholders.Ability to travel to various project sites throughout Australia as required.
