Diploma Early Childhood Educator

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Diploma-qualified Educator to join our Banksias toddler room on a permanent basis. This is a meaningful opportunity to become part of a committed, collaborative team in a service that genuinely values educator wellbeing, professional growth, and quality practice. In this role, you will work alongside our Room Leader to deliver a responsive, play-based curriculum aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0) that honours each child's individual strengths, interests, and family context.

Please note: to be considered for this role, you must hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or AQF Level 5 equivalent). Applicants holding a Certificate III, Certificate IV, or a teaching degree (ECT) will not be considered at this time.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality education and care for toddlers in line with MNCC's philosophy, the NQS, EYLF V2.0, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations

• Contribute to the planning cycle including documenting and linking children's learning to EYLF outcomes

• Build secure, responsive, and nurturing relationships with children that support belonging, being, and becoming

• Implement inclusive practices that respond to each child's diversity, emotional needs, and developmental stage

• Support children's wellbeing during routines including sleep and rest, in accordance with best-practice guidelines

• Maintain educator-to-child ratios and ensure the duty of care to all children is upheld at all times

• Build warm, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with families as a child's first and most important educators

• Communicate professionally and sensitively with families regarding their child's day, learning, and development

• Create a culturally safe and welcoming environment for all families regardless of background, language, or family structure

• Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development, and reflective practice

About you

• Hold or be actively working towards an ACECQA-approved Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

• Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)

• First Aid qualification approved by ACECQA, including anaphylaxis management and emergency asthma management

• Child Protection training approved by the NSW Early Learning Commission (e.g. CHCPRT025/CHCPRT026 or equivalent)

• Mandatory national child safety training via Geccko (foundation training - required under the National Law; must be completed by 27 August 2026)

• National Police Check (no older than 6 months from commencement)

• Experience working with toddlers (1–3 years) in an approved education and care service

• Demonstrated knowledge and application of the National Quality Standards and the EYLF V2.0

• Strong ability to build warm, secure relationships with young children and their families

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Catering for 28 children each day, aged between six weeks and six years, enables us to provide a warm, relaxed and inviting environment that fosters quality interactions and a family atmosphere.
