About the role
3 Month Contracts | Opportunity for Extension | $60 - $65 per hour + Super | 3 Days WFH
A large not-for-profit organisation based in Sydney’s Western Suburbs, this organisation continues to expand its footprint of community support and regional access across NSW and beyond.
With an outstanding reputation for care and compassion in its field of expertise, the organisation has recently undergone a significant modernisation and enhancement of its Payroll and HR Systems architecture, designed to improve employee experience and drive greater operational efficiency.
Supported by high-calibre leadership across Payroll Operations, HR Systems and the broader executive team, they are now seeking two experienced Payroll Officers to join the team on an initial three-month temporary basis, with the opportunity for extension. As the HR Operations recalibrates its structure to adapt to the Dayforce model.
Working within a large-scale payroll function supporting more than 10,000 employees, you will be responsible for:
End-to-end payroll processing across a fortnightly pay cycle, delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines
Ensuring payroll compliance within the relevant legislative, regulatory and industrial environment
Monitoring payroll variance analysis and processing changes to payroll codes and employee data
Providing responsive payroll query resolution with a strong customer service focus
Preparing complex payroll calculations including redundancies, long service leave and remediation payments where required
Managing statutory deductions and obligations including Payroll Tax, Superannuation and Workers Compensation
Supporting month-end and year-end payroll activities, reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements
Maintaining and enhancing payroll procedures and process documentation
Identifying payroll risks, troubleshooting issues and recommending improvements to processes and controls
Contributing to a broader culture of continuous improvement across payroll operations
You will bring at least three years of end-to-end payroll processing experience, ideally gained within a large, complex organisation.
Critically, you will have hands-on exposure to Dayforce Payroll and/or Dayforce WFM modules and be comfortable operating within a high-volume payroll environment.
You will combine strong technical payroll capability with accuracy, sound judgement and a customer-focused approach to resolving employee queries.
These are two initial three-month temporary opportunities, with genuine potential for extension.
The roles are paying $60-$65 per hour + super, depending on experience, and currently offer three days per week wfh. The rate is negotiable dependent on experience.
You will be joining an established payroll function with strong leadership, sophisticated systems capability and a supportive team culture. The payroll leadership team is highly regarded for its mentorship, technical knowledge and focus on building best practice, providing an excellent environment to broaden your experience within one of Australia’s larger and more complex payroll operations.
