About The Role
The Category Manager – FF&E and Capital Equipment leads procurement across Calvary's furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) and capital equipment portfolio, encompassing medical equipment acquisition, facility fit-out and refurbishment, asset replacement programs, and large-scale capital project procurement.
The role manages complex, high-value, project-based procurement in close partnership with Facilities, Capital Works, Clinical, and Finance stakeholders. It is responsible for delivering commercial outcomes through rigorous sourcing, disciplined contract management, and active lifecycle oversight that protect Calvary's capital investment and support safe, effective service delivery across the network.
Your main duties will include:
Lead procurement strategy and execution across the FF&E and capital equipment portfolio, including medical equipment, facility fit-outs and refurbishments, infrastructure assets, technology and major replacement programs.Develop and manage category plans incorporating project pipelines, supply market assessments, sourcing strategies, procurement calendars and contract management frameworks.Lead end-to-end sourcing and tendering for high-value and complex capital items, including Total Cost of Ownership analysis, evaluation frameworks and post-award transition management.Negotiate and manage contracts and supplier performance, ensuring appropriate commercial terms, pricing, warranties, maintenance obligations, performance guarantees, contract compliance and end-of-life arrangements.Partner with Capital Works, Facilities, Clinical and Finance stakeholders to embed procurement early in project planning, develop specifications, manage lead times and ensure clinical and operational requirements are effectively addressed.Monitor and report portfolio performance, including spend, savings, KPIs, supplier performance and commercial outcomes, while ensuring compliance with Calvary policies and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards.
Essential
About you
Minimum 3–5 years' procurement experience with demonstrated capability in capital, FF&E or complex project-based procurement.Proven ability to lead high-value, multi-stage sourcing processes including RFT preparation, tender evaluation and Total Cost of Ownership analysis.Experience negotiating capital contracts with appropriate commercial terms, warranty provisions and lifecycle management obligations.Ability to work effectively within project environments across Capital Works, Facilities and Clinical stakeholders with competing timelines.Strong analytical and commercial skills with experience in spend analysis, benefits modelling and savings reporting.High standard of written communication including sourcing strategies, evaluation reports and contract recommendation papers.
Desirable
Tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, commerce, construction management or a related discipline.CIPS qualification or equivalent.Experience in healthcare, aged care or other capital-intensive regulated environments.Familiarity with reading architectural and design drawings.Experience with medical equipment procurement and TGA regulatory requirements.
