This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027

Located in the northern suburb of Alkimos with sweeping ocean views, Alkimos College opened in 2020 with our foundation Year 7 cohort, providing local intake area students with access to an exceptional secondary education in world-class learning facilities. Stage 1 buildings include administration, lower school student services, library, gymnasium, fitness centre, food studios, cafeteria, Information Technology (IT) labs, technologies workshops, general classrooms, science laboratories, and nature play area. Shared oval and community facilities with the City of Wanneroo are available via the adjacent Halesworth Park precinct. Stage 2 (rolled out in 2024), includes a performing arts centre, lecture theatre, senior school student services centre and general classrooms (including a new two-storey English block).

The Role

Alkimos College is seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent, and enthusiastic English teacher, with excellent interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will ideally be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated.

The successful applicant will ideally be a positive and passionate teacher of English, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. They should use their professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant English curriculum, from the early and middle adolescent phases of learning, through to senior secondary courses. You will ideally be an enthusiastic adopter of a college wide instructional framework based on explicit teaching and instructional skills, strategies, and tactics. Successful applicants will ideally possess the ability to develop innovative classroom practices and utilise Information Communication Technology (ICT) to provide integrated, personalised, and authentic learning experiences for students.
