Tax Accountant - Processor

IQ Tax Pty Ltd, our tax and accounting division, provides taxation and accounting services to a diverse range of individuals and small businesses, partnerships and trusts. We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Tax Return Processor to join our growing team.

This position will commence on a casual basis during the tax season, with the potential to progress to a part-time or full-time role for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a Tax Return Processor, you will play an important role in supporting our accounting team by reviewing, processing and organising client tax information. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working with numbers, technology and administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Data entry into the Tax Assistant software program for the preparation of Individual Tax Returns.

• Review tax documentation for completeness and accuracy.

• Identify missing information and follow up with clients as required.

• Organise and maintain electronic client files.

• Assist with the preparation and lodgement of standard tax returns.

• Support senior accountants with administrative and processing tasks.

• Provide professional communication and customer service to clients.

Skills and Experience

    Essential

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong data entry and computer skills.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage confidential information professionally.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    Desirable

• Previous experience in a tax, accounting, bookkeeping or financial services environment.

• Experience in administration, data entry or customer service roles.

• Previous experience preparing or processing Australian income tax returns.

• Familiarity with Australian taxation principles and ATO processes.

• Experience using Tax Assistant software (preferred but not essential).

Qualifications

• Completion of tertiary studies in Accounting.

• Minimum of two years' accounting experience within Australia.

• Demonstrated experience within a public practice accounting or tax environment.

• Strong client relationship management skills.

• Professional presentation and communication abilities.

• High level of initiative, reliability and attention to detail.
