Vocational Education and Training (VET) at Notre Dame provides students with the skills they need to thrive in the education and health industries. We provide career preparation and formal qualifications to specialise in a certain area of work, to make a career change or as a pathway into higher education. Our programs are flexible and structured so students can learn online, on-campus and in the field.
About the role
The National Senior Student Support Officer coordinates administrative and student support activities across all VET programs, including program delivery, compliance, reporting and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with senior leaders, the position supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, service delivery and student outcomes. The position reports to the Operations Manager, Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate VET administration while supporting team performance and positive student outcomes.
Oversee records, compliance, reporting, events, projects and budgets.
Resolve complex student and administrative matters.
Drive process improvements to enhance service delivery and student outcomes.
Build strong relationships with students, staff and external stakeholders.
Qualifications, skills & experience
Relevant degree with demonstrated experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.
Proven experience leading administrative support and coordination, preferably within a VET, RTO or education environment.
Experience in financial administration, procurement and project coordination.
Ability to provide advice and support to senior leaders on administration, compliance, policy and process improvement.
Strong administrative, project and process management skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and initiative-taking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence staff, students and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to improve administrative systems, processes and service delivery.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience using LMS and CRM systems.
Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team through guidance, mentoring and professional support.
Knowledge of ASQA compliance, government-funded programs and VET operational requirements is highly desirable.
