About the role
BoardOutlook is looking for an Account Director to build and grow trusted relationships with chairs, CEOs, directors and company secretaries across some of the world’s leading organisations.
This is not a traditional account management role built around routine check-ins and renewal reminders.
BoardOutlook’s platform gives boards a clear, evidence-based view of how they are performing, where their dynamics may be helping or hindering them and what deserves closer attention. The technology provides the insight.
The Account Director helps clients understand what that insight means, what they should do next and how BoardOutlook can continue to support them. You will own a portfolio of senior client relationships and help those clients achieve greater value from the platform. You will also identify opportunities to deepen their use of BoardOutlook, grow the account and generate warm introductions to other boards.
The role requires commercial judgement, strong relationship skills and the ability to become genuinely useful to people operating at the highest levels of business.
About BoardOutlookBoardOutlook is a board performance platform designed to help boards become more effective. The platform supports board reviews, skills matrices, director feedback, CEO evaluations and broader board performance activity. Since the company was founded in 2019, BoardOutlook has worked with hundreds of boards and thousands of directors.
Its clients range from major listed companies across the FTSE 100 and ASX 100 to public sector and not-for-profit organisations. The business now operates across the United Kingdom, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, North America, South America and Europe.
BoardOutlook was built on the belief that better boards create better outcomes for directors, shareholders, employees and society.
The opportunityYou will take ownership of a portfolio of relationships with chairs, CEOs, directors and company secretaries. Your role will be to understand what each client is trying to achieve, what pressures are shaping the organisation and how BoardOutlook can help the board perform more effectively.
That requires more than knowing the platform well.
You will need to ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully and understand what matters beyond the immediate governance process. You will help clients interpret their results and translate those insights into practical action. You will also introduce them to other parts of the BoardOutlook toolkit where there is a genuine opportunity to create more value.
The commercial side of the role is important. You will be expected to grow accounts and help generate referrals.
However, this is not about forcing a sales conversation into every interaction. It is about building enough trust and delivering enough value that clients want to deepen the relationship and feel confident introducing BoardOutlook to their peers.
What you will be doingYour responsibilities will include:
This role will suit someone who is comfortable with senior stakeholders without needing to dominate the room. You may have developed your experience in top-tier professional services, consulting, executive advisory, enterprise account management or SaaS. You will ideally bring at least five years of experience working with boards, directors, executives or similarly senior stakeholders.
You will also bring:
Experience with listed organisations, regulated environments or corporate governance would be valuable, although it is not essential.
What matters most is your ability to build credibility, understand complexity and become a trusted partner to senior leaders.
What success will look likeSuccess in this role will come from the quality and commercial impact of the relationships you build.
You will know you are succeeding when:
This is an opportunity to work with highly experienced leaders and help improve how boards operate.
You will join a growing company with ambitious international plans and the freedom to help shape how client relationships are managed. The work is commercially important, but it also has purpose. You will be helping boards understand themselves more clearly, make better decisions and improve how they operate.
You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, influence how clients use the platform and help shape the way BoardOutlook grows.
Five values that drive how we workWe prioritise simplicity and reduce complexity.
Details matter, and we take pride in getting them right.
We commit and execute with urgency, ensuring swift action.
We invest generously in each other's growth and success.
We pursue ambitious goals and strive for outsized wins.
This is a Melbourne-based role connected to BoardOutlook’s head office. The team works flexibly, although regular in-person collaboration will be important. The role will involve working across international time zones and travelling internationally for key meetings and events.
The package includes:
Candidates must have full working rights in Australia.
Could this be your next chapter? This is an opportunity to work with remarkable leaders, build relationships that genuinely matter and help some of the world’s most significant boards get more from the insight available to them.
