About the role

Winners Painters & Blasters PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Painter/Blaster to join our team on a full-time basis at our Athol Park SA location. This role is central to delivering high-quality surface preparation and painting services to our industrial clients across South Australia. As an Industrial Painter/Blaster, you will be responsible for preparing, protecting and finishing industrial surfaces to the highest standards, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to specification. This is a hands-on position that combines technical expertise with attention to detail, making it essential to our operational success.

Key responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting operations including sandblasting, grit blasting and other surface preparation techniques to remove rust, scale, paint and contaminants

• Prepare surfaces by grinding, sanding and cleaning to achieve the required finish standards

• Apply protective coatings, industrial paints, epoxies and specialised finishes using spray equipment, brushes and rollers

• Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety

• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and surfaces are properly prepared and finished

• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and project timelines

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule

• Contribute to a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards

• Clean and maintain work areas and equipment in accordance with company standards

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Industrial Painter, Blaster or in a similar surface preparation and coating role

• Strong knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, coating systems and surface preparation methods

• Proficiency with industrial spray equipment, sanders, grinders and other painting tools

• Understanding of safety standards, regulations and best practices in the painting and blasting industry

• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints and work instructions

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Reliability and punctuality

• Valid driver's licence

• Relevant certifications or licenses (such as blasting certification or paint application qualifications) are highly desirable
